“ARCHIE”
GCH FV MV Timberline's Dust Bowl Dance OFA H/E, OFA DM Clear, or "Archie" as he is known by his people, was born in September, 2015 in Jarvis, Ontario. He was co-bred by two kennels, Sonoma German Shepherds, and Timberline German Shepherds, and born at Sonoma. His breeders are Julie, Tony and Colleen Vandendool. Archie was a stand out in his larger litter of 11 puppies. He was a handsome puppy, with bone, substance, coat and a remarkable headpiece. At 6 weeks old he already had an eye-catching side gait. At 8 weeks he left Sonoma GSD, to reside permanently with Timberline and begin his show career.
Archie started off well, winning the 2016 Canadian Futurity Victor title at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Canada National Specialty, as well as completing his Canadian Championship rather quickly. He then returned the following year in 2017, being awarded the 2017 Canadian Maturity Victor title at the Nationals again. We were very proud to win these titles under German Shepherd specialty judges Dr. Morton Goldfarb and Gloria Birch. Over the next few years we let him grow up, both physically and mentally, and he did not return to the ring again until mid 2019, in preparation for showing at the 2019 Canadian Nationals. We were surprised and excited to see him received so well by judges, being awarded 16 group placements from only a handful of shows, and finishing up 2019 3rd in the breed standings.
He started 2020 off very strong, with 3 BIS, 4 RBIS and 13 Group 1st Placements prior to the pandemic, and an additional 3 Group 1st, 1 RBIS and 1 BIS since shows have resumed. Archie is often owner handled, but there are two additional handlers who have assisted frequently over the years, Liv Calabrese and Kristin Sapinski, we thank these ladies for their excellent work!
Archie has grown into a striking dog, with beautiful black and red colouring, and the ideal GSD coat. He has a strong top line, and a moderate side-gait, and a down and back that is difficult to fault. He is a dog that is both physically and mentally sound, and he's a pleasure to own.
Archie now resides with and is conditioned by his best friend Rachel Vandendool. He's an easy dog to love, and is the typical GSD, rarely seen without a ball in his mouth. He loves running on his country property and keeping his girls and young pups in line. He has been producing some promising young dogs and has several champions to date, with many more showing now. He is the sire of Canada's # 1 German Shepherd Puppy from 2019, Ch. Timberline's Rockin' At Coachella, owned by Bethany Smith and Linda Silvestri. We are very excited to see what the future holds for our boy!
